acres of fun

the boys and i enjoyed a nice four day weekend and headed to our local kiddie amusement park. kiddie acres has been around for 30 plus years in north austin. it’s a little worn from wear, but it’s the perfect manageable size for the under six crowd. i honestly didn’t know what to expect. i knew they had a little train and the boys would want to ride that, but i had no idea if they’d be game for going on unfamiliar rides, by themselves no less. we barely made it to the ticket booth before they started to swoon over the BOATS! the AIRPLANES! the JEEPS! they were completely fearless. we ripped through ten tickets in no time flat and had to buy more. the airplanes were by far the biggest hit and i can’t even count how many times they went on. it got to the point where i couldn’t even put them on the rides anymore, they insisted the “teenagers” lift them up and buckle them in. such a completely adorable first experience at an amusement park for all of us!

    Looks like a blast!
We go to our state fair (15 minute drive from our house!) every year and this last year, the boys stayed for five hours riding rides and eating foods. I couldn’t believe the stuff they wanted to ride! I can’t wait to see what they want to ride in October.
